The Gesellschaft für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik (GAMM) will continue the series of GAMM Conferences on Numerical Methods in Fluid Mechanics. The ninth, was held in 1991, in Lausanne/Switzerland and the tenth, 1999, in Kirchzarten/Germany.
The main objective of these conferences is to initiate interdisciplinary contact between PhD students working in the field of fluid mechanics.
In order to introduce the audience to some of the important problems in the field, six 60-minute lectures will be given.
- Patrick Bontoux, Université Aix-Marseille
Spectral methods for the accurate computation of highly non-linear flows
- Sebastian Noelle, RWTH Aachen
Multidimensional flux-vector-splitting schemes for hyperbolic systems of
conservation laws
- Henri Paillere, CEA Saclay
Natural convection flows with large temperature differences, a benchmark for
low mach number solvers
- Gerarld Warnecke, Universität Magdeburg
The use of bicharacteristics in finite volume schemes for conservation laws
- Wolfgang Schröder, RWTH Aachen
On the numerical simulation of trailing edge noise
- Christian Rohde, Universität Freiburg
Phase transitions in compressible media
During the afternoon sessions the participants, in particular PhD students, have the opportunity to present their research results in poster sessions, which include an oral introductory presentation of about 10 minutes and a general discussion.
Prospective participants, who want to participate at these poster sessions, are kindly requested to send a short abstract (approx. 200 words) to the address indicated below.
We hope that the continuation of the GAMM Conferences will also find your approval and we invite you to support this workshop with your contribution.
For application and submission of the abstract fill in the online registration form and return it before October 15, 2001.
