ALBERT distribution

ALBERT - An adaptive hierarchical finite element toolbox

Alfred Schmidt and Kunibert G. Siebert

How to obtain ALBERT

Currently, ALBERT works without problems on Linux PCs, DEC, HP, SGI, and SUN workstations. OpenGL (e.g. Mesa) is a plus, BLAS is a must.

ALBERT is freely distributed for research and education, but you have to obtain a license from us.

Just download the license

English license --- German license (gzipped PostScript file)

English license --- German license (PDF file)

print and fill it (in block letters), and send two copies back to us at

ALBERT
Abteilung für Angewandte Mathematik
Mathematisches Institut der Universität Freiburg
Hermann-Herder-Straße 10

The license has to be signed by the director of the department/institute. You will then receive ALBERT by email.

In order to use the visualization libraries gltools and/or GRAPE, you have to contact the owners for a license, too.
