Overview
Currently we operate a SONY LVR-4000P video disc recorder that is being
remote controlled from one of our SGI workstations doing visualization.
The design goal for making movies with GRAPE was to provide a simple interface to be able to control all of the recorder's functions. In addition, the realization of movies should be as easy as possible. Currently there are four additional mouseclicks necessary to record a given GRAPE timescene onto the video disc recorder.
For production of video tapes there is a JVC BR-S605E Professional S recorder also being controlled via its RS-232 interface.
