Development of Numerical Software at the Applied Math Department in Freiburg

Research Topics
For numerical computation in the field of fluid dynamics an flexible implementation of a discretization grid is needed. The ALUGrid Library provides both hexahedral and tetrahedral grids which can be locally adapted and when used for parallel computations the decomposition of the domain can be recomputed.
The underlying grid concept for the ALUGrid Library was developed and implemented as part of a phd-thesis at the Abteilung für Angewandte Mathematik in Freiburg by Bernhard Schupp.
